Human CXCL10 (IP-10, Interferon gamma-induced protein 10) is a 77 amino acid protein that is expressed by monocytes, endothelial cells and fibroblasts. It is a potent T-cell chemoattractant through binding and activation of the G protein-coupled receptor CXCR3. CXCL10 plays a key role in immune surveillance, antiviral responses, and tumor suppression. It also inhibits angiogenesis and is implicated in autoimmune diseases and cancer progression, making it a significant target for immunological and oncological research. CXCL10 also binds and activates the scavenger receptor ACKR2.
