Human CCL24 (C-C motif ligand 24; also known as Eotaxin-2, MPIF-2) is a 93-amino-acid CC chemokine secreted by monocytes, macrophages, and epithelial cells. CCL24 is a weak agonist of CCR3, with low eosinophil chemotaxis. It is processed into CCL24(1-78) by signal peptidase or extracellular proteases. These interactions highlight CCL24's role as a pro-form in allergic inflammation.
