Human CCL19 (C-C motif ligand 19; also known as MIP-3β, ELC) is a 77-amino-acid CC chemokine expressed in thymus, lymph nodes, and high endothelial venules. CCL19 binds CCR7 to direct naïve T cells, central memory T cells, and mature dendritic cells into secondary lymphoid organs. It also binds ACKR4 and ACKR5. CCL19 is essential for adaptive immune initiation and lymph node architecture. These interactions highlight CCL19's non-redundant role in immune cell homing.
