Human CCL16 (C-C motif ligand 16; also known as HCC-4, LCC-1) is a 97-amino-acid CC chemokine highly expressed in liver and upregulated by IL-10. CCL16 binds CCR1, CCR2, CCR5, and CCR8 to attract monocytes, dendritic cells, and lymphocytes. It also binds ACKR1 and ACKR5. CCL16 is implicated in liver fibrosis, angiogenesis, and tumor immunity. These interactions highlight CCL16's role in hepatic immune surveillance and chronic inflammation.
