Human CCL15 (C-C motif ligand 15; also known as MIP-1γ, HCC-2, Lkn-1) is a 92-amino-acid CC chemokine expressed in T cells, B cells, NK cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells. CCL15 is a weak agonist of CCR1 and CCR3, with low chemotactic activity. The full-length form is proteolytically processed (e.g., by cathepsin G, elastase) into CCL15(25-92), a highly potent CCR1/CCR3 agonist. These interactions highlight CCL15's role as a pro-form in immune activation and inflammation.
