Human CCL14(9-74) (C-C motif ligand 14(9-74); also known as HCC-1(9-74)) is a 66-amino-acid highly potent CC chemokine generated by uPA/plasmin cleavage of CCL14, a CC chemokine constitutively expressed in liver, spleen, and bone marrow. It binds CCR1 and CCR5 with 100-1,000-fold greater potency than the precursor, recruiting monocytes and T cells and blocking HIV-1. Also binds ACKR1 and ACKR2. These interactions highlight CCL14(9-74)'s role in acute inflammation and antiviral defense.
