Human CCL13(8-82) (C-C motif ligand 13(8-82); also known as MCP-4(8-82)) is a 75-amino-acid N-terminally processed CC chemokine generated from pro-CCL13 by signal peptide cleavage and extracellular protease activity. CCL13(8-82) binds CCR2 and CCR3 with high potency to attract monocytes, eosinophils, basophils, and T cells. It also binds ACKR1. This form is the predominant circulating variant and is implicated in asthma and allergic rhinitis. These interactions highlight CCL13(8-82)'s role in eosinophil-driven inflammation.
