Human CXCL17 (3-98) is 96 residue CXCL17 N-terminal truncation product of the protein expressed in non-intestinal mucosal tissues. CXCL17 contains CXC motifs that resemble a conserved sequence element in the chemokine family. The 3D structure of CXCL17 is unknown and its membership in the chemokine family may be disputed. Orphan GPCR GPR25 was recently proposed as a receptor for CXCL17.
