Description: Human CCL14, also known as Hemofiltrate CC Chemokine-1, HCC-1/HCC-3 and NCC-2, is a weak agonist of the G protein-coupled receptor CCR1. Proteolytic removal of the 8 N-terminal residues generates a 66 amino acid CCL14 variant that is a potent agonist of CCR1 and CCR5. The truncated CCL14 is a chemoattractant for T lymphocytes, monocytes, and eosinophils. It occurs at a 100- to 1,000-fold-lower concentration in human hemofiltrate than CCL14 1–74, when estimated from relative recovery during isolation.
